Netflix is something all college kids own yet, they may not all have a television. This may seem crazy to some generations but, it makes perfect since for college kids.
Most students when they enter college are going to get a laptop to do their school work on. Laptops are not inexpensive and can leave a huge hole in your pocket. Televisions are costing around $200 and those are the cheapest ones with screens a bit bigger than their laptops. Most student are not seeing a good reason to purchase one, unless they live in an apartment where people can come watch with them.
According to Huffington Post, forty percent of United State households with internet have some type of video-on-demand subscription. The normal subscription to a cable network is around $30 a month and that is also with additional charges the company hides. The cost will only be $30 a month for 12 months then it rises. You will also receive a 'hopper', not exactly sure what is, but it adds $12 a month to your bill. With $30 a month toward Dish Networks cable television you can get, Americas top 120 cables shows.
There are so many choices of online watching sites that any can be cheaper than the monthly cable subscription. Netflix is $10 a month with over 8519 shows/movies. You can add additional profiles so that each family member can have their own choices with just a simple click. There is a kids only side of Netflix that has shows for children. It is much easier to work than putting a parental passcode on the television.
Even with the multitude of shows on Netflix you do not get to see anything live. Netflix does not have sports and only updates the television show after it has aired on T.V. So, if you are an avid watcher of Survivor, you should stick with the Dish Network package to continue the addiction. If, you want to save some bucks and always watch a different show then Netflix is the right choice for you!

Android vs. Apple

The classic debate of iPhone vs. Android phones has been going on sing 2007, when iPhones were first introduced. Apple has been one of the most superb technnology companies in the cell phone business. It looks as if more than half smart-phone users prefer Apple to Android. Why would that be?
Cellular phones have become a part of our everyday life. They wake us up in the morning to whatever song we choose, they tell us the weather so we don't have to watch the news on T.V. , and they entertain you during your after lunch visit to the 'Lue'. Most apple products are easier for new smart phone users to handle. Apple also offers the cloud. The cloud is a new way to store your data off of all your apple devices. Most people have a Mac and an iPhone, the cloud helps them store all of there data in this imaginary space where, with your Apple Id, you can get your files very quickly. A negative of the cloud is most consumers run out of storage. They take photos on their iPhone and type business reports on there computer and all of these items save to their 'cloud' . Once, your 'cloud' gets too full Apple will want you to purchase more space. More gigabytes[GB] could cost you from $.99-$19.99 dollars a month.
Android however, is run through google and almost everyone knows what google is. Android users want a nice smart phone but, don't care about the brand. Most Android screens have a bigger display and their cameras have a much better lens. Android, although tougher for most cell phone users to understand, has and easy mode so that new users can understand how everything on the phone works. It has a much simpler home screen and most of the icons are very easy for the phone user to understand. Androids hold 32GB or 64GB of data with no extra charge. Unlike iPhones, whose $300 phone holds 8GB of data and if you want more then you need to purchase it. Most Android devices also come with free music. Unlike Apple, who requires you to set up an iTunes account and purchase all songs from the iTunes store.
In conclusion, both products have their own benefits. I am an Apple iPhone user and I have been ever since I got my first iPhone. Android has many benefits that apple doesn't but I will probably continuing buying Apple products.

Important Story Points
- Voices student concerns about off campus living
- Talks about how Oklahoma Christian is planning on fitting all of the students here on campus
- Interview from Neil Arter the Dean of Students at Oklahoma Christian
Oklahoma Christian University was named “one of the best universities in the West” by U.S. News & World Report and the Princeton Review.
Additionally, Oklahoma Christian is one of the smallest universities in the West. The student body, consisting of 2,424 pupils, is living on 200-plus acre campus. Although this sounds like plenty of space for the student population, it is, in reality, a fairly small campus for that number of students.
What's the problem?
“This past fall ,[Oklahoma Christian’s] residency halls were at an all time high,” said Neil Arter, the dean of students on campus. “Some of our facilities were over 90 percent occupied.”
Many juniors and seniors are having a hard time finding suitable living space on campus; the few that have the rooming they want are crammed. The apartments are having the worst problem with over population.
This issue of space has affected a male senior [who has decided to remain anonymous],“They have started pushing four people into apartments that were made for two,” said the male . “My apartments last year was three times this size and there was a walk-in closet.”
It is clear that many students are dealing with the consequences of the continual growth of the school. Many students feel as if Oklahoma Christian is not pursuing other options to build more space.
Are they trying to do anything?
Oklahoma Christian has decided to renovate the Tealridge retirement home near campus and turn it into additional student housing so it can expand without having to build new living areas. It is a great benefit for Oklahoma Christian to have the option of housing students in Tealridge. The University can save money to build another housing addition, or re-model the current living arrangements on campus.
“The recent addition of the Tealridge Property to our residence hall capacity will help alleviate the capacity issue,” said dean Arter. “We already have about 50 students living in Tealridge and more will be added next year.”
The problem for most students is that these rooms are even smaller than those on campus. Since the living spaces were made for elderly people who can’t get around as well, students have a hard time enjoying the living space provided.
Additionally, this past semester, the vacant Tealridge rooms have been used predominantly for married couples. Single students on campus may find it very uncomfortable to live near married couples.
Will off Campus living be more available ?
The only other choice for students is to live off campus. If students are wanting to live off campus they must be 23 years of age [or older] , have over 120 credit hours, only be at school part time, or living with their family. Many students prefer this option, but Oklahoma Christian has been very strict lately on letting students live off campus. They would like the campus to remain residential because it crates the “home” atmosphere Oklahoma Christian is known for.
“We have no plan to change our current policy at this point,“ said dean Arter. “From time-to-time, we take the time to reconsider our desire to be a residential campus.”
Several students prefer living on campus with all their classmates and enjoy meeting friends in the cafeteria to eat lunch. Others would prefer to live off campus just with a few close friends, leaving more room on campus for those who enjoy being so close to school.
What should be done?
An obvious solution could be to build more housing. Although it is a costly fix, it would help solve many of the issues. However, a problem arises with constructing more housing; OC would have to find land to expand on, either on or near campus. Unfortunately, houses and restaurants occupy most of the areas surrounding campus leaving almost no room for potential growth.
Oklahoma Christian is trying to help all the students on campus to the best of its ability. Hopefully, OC can resolve this problem in an efficient and reasonable way because students want Oklahoma Christian to continue to grow and to be a place that they call home.
